Repeat Prescriptions

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.

Requests for medication not on repeat can be made as shown below.  These requests will first be passed to a clinician to ensure they are appropriate.

Patients on long term medication can order repeat prescriptions in the following ways:

  • In person – carefully tick the items required on your repeat slip and drop it in to the surgery. You can post it through the letter box if we’re closed or in the repeat prescription box in the foyer if we’re open. Slips are also available from reception.
  • By post – send it to us with a stamped addressed envelope if you want it posted back to you.
  • By email - to Greenwood.meds@nhs.net enclosing the following information:
    • Full NAME and Date of Birth
    • Name of Medication
    • Dosage of Medication, how often it is taken and the quantity needed
  • Online – via the link at the top of this page. Please contact the surgery for registration and details.

We cannot accept request prescriptions either verbally or by telephone due to the risk of errors being made.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
